Because I moved house in February, I forgot all about Quilt Along With Melody which I had been hosting every year for three or four years. Duh. But today on Pinterest I came across a super video-rich blog entry from my friend Candy Glendening in which she demonstrates how to quilt a large quilt without sashing strips. Yay!!!!
Such detailed instructions that it wets my whistle to make another bed quilt. She made each part into a separate video so it is clear as can be, and so doable. I love this one she made for her son. I need a quilt like this, don't you?
Again, I urge you to make a small sample and get the process and then tackle a larger project. Candy shows a great mini quilt in the last video and it is a great example of adding sections at different angles.
Can you catch my excitement? See it all here:

Thank you for showing us that quilt and linking the video. I will look at it tonight. I did miss your quilt along this year, but knew it was because of the move.
ReplyDeleteWOW Melody I love this, going to share it with the Crystal Lake Modern Quilt Guild! We are doing a BOM and this technique would be perfect for quilting at the end of the year!! Thank You!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the link to Candy's tutorials. I found them inspiring. I was especially interested in the last video of the tutorial where she showed the quilt with different sized blocks done by QAYG.
