Baktus Scarf Version#2
I decided to make this scarf again, in dk weight, heavier than the first one. I used a hand dyed neutral color plus half the scarf is dusty violet and the other half is loden green.
The color is true on the left, but the picture on the right is how it looks in the bathroom mirror. Quite a difference, no?
This is a scarf that might act as a hood in cold weather, or as a shawl in a chilly room, and against the neck is the loveliest and softest wool this side of cashmere. I always thought I was allergic to wool, since as a kid all I ever knew was the scratchy kind. Nowadays it is such a different fiber, sensuous and often machine washable!
I think I have those same bathroom lights! Sometimes I get outside and look in the car mirror and my blush is crazy and my eyeshadow looks like a clown put it on. Looks great in the bathroom though!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure when I feel like knitting again I'll look back at these wonderful posts but I keep looking for quilting!!!! I don't seem to be able to do both at the same time. Lucky you to be able to switch back and forth.

ReplyDeleteYou've got me going with the Baktus kerchief! Got two going at once. Actually it occurred to me that with a very long cable needle I could be knitting them both at once. Hmmmm. I have a set of those Denise needles -- so cool just to be able to plop the right size tips on the plastic "strings."
