This is not good.
I like to see all your ideas percolating. I especially like the selvage quilt. It will be interesting to see what you come up with!HollyMhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18161858859864895000noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9291442.post-55150016778556019082012-02-15T14:17:01.177-05:002012-02-15T14:17:01.177-05:00OK - the tips you provided are wonderful for fusin...OK - the tips you provided are wonderful for fusing and quilting but have raised some additional questions.

1. I had a hard time finding 30wt cotton thread in the color I needed. So I'm using 30wt Sulky rayon thread for my free motion quilting. But I found that this thread breaks easier when using the self threading needles (I never heard of such a thing until you mentioned it). Is there a brand of 30wt cotton thread with a good range of colors?
2. I'm pretty satisfied with my free motion quilting but would like my pattern to look a little more consistent. How slow do you go when machine quilting? Do you sketch on the material any semblance of a quilting pattern at all? I did learn to quilt towards me rather than away so I can see the spacing while quilting. But I found that it takes extreme concentration to make sure I don't overlap, etc. Maybe I'm going too fast?

All in all, I am having fun with this practice fusing piece and learned what not to do on my next project.Celeste Wegnernoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9291442.post-12954904021728466522012-02-15T13:50:58.233-05:002012-02-15T13:50:58.233-05:00Congrats on the weight loss!
