I'll tell you that sales tax on everything is 9.25%, and that's food, too. Lots to see and do there, the Aquarium, IMAX, Creative Children's Discovery Museum, and an awesome coffee shop downtown called Greyfriers.
The thing about Signal Mountain is that when it snows, (and it doesn't too often) or ices, Signal Mountain road closes first.
Just wanted to tell you what I knew. And in the fall, the views from the mountain are spectacular.Juryizstillouthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15359064815254658511noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9291442.post-22541847240914328162007-04-12T10:26:00.000-04:002007-04-12T10:26:00.000-04:00You have certainly picked a beautiful time of the ...You have certainly picked a beautiful time of the year to see that area. So glad you made it to Chattanoog...Congratulations! So glad you made it to Chattanooga! Signal Mountain is a wonderful, secluded area and I have many friends that live there. I hope you will look at other homes in the area, too. The Signal Mountain area is a bit of a "clique." I hope that now that your agent has labeled you "Signal Mountain people" she will not consider showing you other, just as potentially wonderful, homes in other areas of Chattanooga. Labels can sometimes be limiting (IMHO). Here's another thought. I live in an apartment home community at the base of Signal Mountain (off Signal Mountain Road), called Windridge (423-265-7696). Many people relocating to the area rent an apartment there while looking for their home. It may be an option you want to look into. If you do, tell them that "Peggy sent you!" Please let me know if you have questions about the area. Good luck!Peggyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12528195485528462691noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9291442.post-88673086382090059262007-04-11T12:28:00.000-04:002007-04-11T12:28:00.000-04:00We visited Chatanooga several years ago and also e...We visited Chatanooga several years ago and also enjoyed the town. Signal Mountain is wonderful. Hope the humidity on the mountain is better than in town! When we were there even the trees were dripping sweat! The area looks lovely. I'll ask Terry about it as soon as he gets out of the shower. But no house pictures? Is that because none of them worked for you? And what's next? Oh well, I'm sure you'll answer these and many other questions in your next post. Have a ball!Brookehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17902247932548218756noreply@blogger.com
