QAWM : Painted Inspiration

This image appeared on Pinterest today and it got me out of bed and into the studio. Hey, whatever works! The title is Rudimentary and the artist is Adele Sypesteyn. While not my usual color choices, I still found it attractive enough to motivate me to start sewing.

Because of the un-Melody-like colors I tried to find something in my hand-dyed stash that would echo, if not match, the tone of the subtle artwork. I don't want to say that these colors are all rejects, but many of them were disappointing ( at the time) when I dyed them. Not the pink or orange of course.
Part One of a larger composition, so far it measures 45x32", I plan to add width and height and quilt as I go.

Let me stress SUBTLE again. The details are tiny, and low contrast which pretty much goes against everything I usually choose. I'm challenging myself to try something different.
I got this card in the mail today and it was so cute I had to share! Awwwww!

Love this quilt and the piece that inspired you to make it. It may have even inspired me to get a little quilting done! :)
    Cheers! Heather
