The Bridge

The Bridge
Hand dyed cottons, fused, hand and machine quilted. 17x19.5" $250 SOLD

When I post a new work I like to eliminate the background in Photoshop and then add a drop shadow. This piece has so many areas of high contrast around the edges that something is lost no matter how careful I am. So I am including this just cropped version too. I had been working on another piece of which this is a portion, the part I really liked, so I removed everything that wasn't supporting my idea, and now I am much much happier.

I kinda lost sleep over the title, as it seemed to me that what I was doing was moving ahead while holding onto the familiar. It could have just as easily been called ' stepping off into the unknown, looking over my shoulder' but that seems a little unwieldy and too dramatic.

  1. This is beautiful. It looks a little bit like a landscaping plan for your home. I'd buy it if I could. Fantastic work.

You could have called it "Onward", but Bridges is good too....it speaks to landscaping again.
