Letter from Home

It has not been a quiet week at the Mexican Chalet. Be thankful that you sleep somewhere else. My midnight coughing has been raucous, but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.
Everything else is coming to an end too. Tonight is Dave's last baseball playoff game, and tonight is high school orientation night for my niece and her parents, and then tomorrow is MOVING DAY.
We will be filling two trucks, a van and a car with their stuff and taking it all to Chattanooga.
This means lots of stuff I have been holding in my garage over the last two years is going to leave too, which in turn means we can get both of our new/old cars into the garage. Yippee! I dream of garage door openers in my future.
And now I am announcing my new gallery affiliation: The Bradley Art Gallery in Stoughton WI.
I wonder how many of you are WI readers? Anyone?
The best part of having a bunch of work in a gallery is the empty space it brings to my studio. Like, I need to get back to work! And I will, as soon as I can recover my good health and get my house back to normal. Stay tuned.

It's unbelievable! The difference in your landscape that is. Hard work pays. It is gorgeous!

  2. What you need is rest, rest, and more rest to kick this "thing" you've got! Hopefully, you will be able to do that after the move.

Congrats on the gallery! It's about time someone recognized your talent :)

  4. I'm nearer Milwaukee than Madison. From the looks of the website, they're carrying fiber art (PAQAette MaryJo Bowers) as well. Good luck and hope you have a ton of new sales.

Melody, I'm not from Wisconsin, but I see that Stoughton is between Janesville and Madison, so I will definitely stop in when I go to visit my sister in Madison. It looks like a great gallery. Congratulations!

How weird, Melody! Not only am I from WI, but I grew up in Stoughton and graduated from HS there. Stoughton is 18 miles se of Madison, and is known for its Norwegian descendants. Most of the gift shops sell Scandinavian products like Rosmaling, Norwegian rose painting. They even celebrate Synntedde Mai (May 15) Norwegian Independence Day with parades etc.

  10. I'm a transplant from WI to near San Francisco, but have read your blog since meeting you at Art Quilt Tahoe.
Our cottage is in Door County, WI, and I am here now. My husband is a woodturner, and has things here at Fine Line in Ephraim, where Sue Benner had her things. Good luck on everything.
