Series Work: Making Parts

Yesterday's newly made parts mixed with leftovers from Bon Bon
Now that I get the series concept, I am making it work for me. This one is going to be a different layout, and have a few more contrasting colors.
I still have more parts to make from this pile of fabric.
I found a safe place to hang Bon Bon for the moment. My room has southern windows and on sunny days (300 days a year) it is too bright to hang quilts in the sun. This wall is perfect. And I see it first thing as I climb the stairs. New curtains will co-ordinate.

And Bradford Copse fits right in here, next to the beverage bar.

I usually take a long time to put rod pockets on the back of my work. But finding a place to hang these two speeded up the procrastination.
Mickey Depre had a great idea on her blog. Go through the house and find five things a day that you could easily live without. And of course the next step is to get rid of them. She has five family members, and in a month that means 600 items that have left the building. Woo!

Like Mickey's idea....just as long as none of those 5 family members ticks her off!

You are really going gang-busters making that home YOURS.

Five members? I just counted 2 teenagers and both parents, where is the missing person?

Mickey may be using a condensed version of the FlyLady's 27-Fling Boogie; you can see it here-

I can do this every week and the Stuff grows back.

  4. You've heard of typo's? I did a 'reado'!

You wrote "And of course the next step is to get rid of them. She has five family members ......"

I read "She has five family members and of course the next step is to get rid of them."

More space for the stash when they're gone I suppose!!!

  5. I read the same as Linda and was wondering if Mickey was going to get rid of her family members first!

I love your series and have enjoyed reading about your move and getting settled in your new home.

  6. I thought I must have a very wicked mind, reading that Mickey was going to get rid of her family members (and having a laugh about it) but luckily Linda and Corky read the same.

Your work is very beautifull, Melody, I am impressed with the brightness of it.

  7. Meloday - just love the Bon Bon series. It's like taking a stroll through the Bahamas. They're wonderful!

Could you share your hanging system (seen in the "Bradford Copse" photo in this post)? I love the simplicity of it.

    Thanks for the wonderful blog!
