Before and After

Thursday..............................................................................Friday
What a difference a haircut makes! I am a new woman and this is a new day.
I have literally tossed my cookies, which were getting stale anyway. I am down to one stick of butter and no ice cream in the freezer. We do have one emergency loaf of bread in there I noticed, but that will be eaten by Dave.
The new regime starts now.
I am not dieting.
Instead I am just done with self-indulgence. There is a difference.
Somewhere, sometime in the year 2007 I became overwhelmed with living up to the expectations of others. It was subtle but grew until I had to stuff it down with good food. I saw it as it happened and had not the strength to overcome.
Now I do.
Simple. Plus I am no longer in that position of pleasing anyone but moi, and the darling husband of course. Speaking of Dave, he made a few rumdum purchases too in a waistband size unheard of in his experience.
So together, we are shaping up.
This is how we will do it.
1. Clear out the stuff that could become our downfall
2. Chart out a day's meals
3. Portion control
4. Five tiny meals instead of one huge one
5. Walking after meals
6. No eating after 5 pm
This meal plan thing prevents thinking about food. Just look at the menu and see what is coming up next and when.
And I will be creative in the studio vs. the kitchen.

Great haircut! Can I borrow your beautician??? Did you color it, too?

Good luck with the "no diet" diet. About 4 months ago my DH decided he needed to "do" something to lose a little weight. Well, when he gets his mind set...look out. He got on the treadmill every day for 30 minutes and we both ate more sensibly, etc., etc.. He lost 25 lbs....I lost nothing! Zip! Zilch! Not fair. :( Obviously, he still has his metabolism. LOL Hope you do better than I did.

  4. You look years younger. I don't think you need to diet anyway.

Do you know that while Brooke was visiting that you both combed your hair the same way? Funny thing that is.
Maybe you could go back to your salad portions pre-prepared and refrigerated. That way if you are feeling hungry you can just pull a 'no-guilt' salad.
