Finishing Up the Past

Bodacious Bloomers (straight border)

In my early days of teaching I made a quilt and then designed a class around it. If it was popular I might have sold the original and then had to make another. Or maybe the sample had to go to the guild I would be teaching at and then I would need another sample for the class I was teaching presently. So I have made several of these Bodacious Bloomers quilts and finally learned that if I showed it in class UNFINISHED there was less of a chance of selling it, meaning I wouldn't have to make ANOTHER for the next time I taught it. Now that I have retired I decided it was time to finish these samples and put them on the blog.
The first two are Bodacious Bloomers. The colors of all these samples stems from the kit fabrics that I dyed for my students. All rainbow pieces, making it easier to get lots of color to play with, without having to fuse many pieces of fabric.

Power Strip Log Cabin

18" square, Hand dyed cottons, hand and machine quilted

This Log Cabin was made for my Power Strips class. So many quilts can be made with strips

Power Strip Hidden Wells

18" square, Hand dyed cottons, machine quilted

Including this Hidden Wells. We used the rotary cutter pinking and wavy blades. All of these quilts are part of my past and now that they are finished and posted on the Newest Quilts site, I am ready to start something new.
