As Cozy As It Gets

It's a far cry from the woodburner that came with the house, no? This is the stinky old thing, which we sold months ago, thank heaven. We decided not to burn wood, but we still have a ton of it stacked down at the driveway, which we hope to sell. The new fireplace doesn't have an electric connection, batteries provide the spark, so we are set for the inevitable power outages.
Yesterday I took some time to photograph the fall colors which you can see in a slideshow here. One of the lucky shots I got was of the frog pond, and one of the tiny froggies that live there. He looks fake, but he is very real. There must be about six little black guys living in this tub, surrounded by rocks. Usually they can be found basking on the rocks, and then they jump back in the water when I try to get a shot. I was faster and quieter yesterday. I am learning.

Is that frog pond different than the fish pond? You have multiple ponds on your property? I can not wait to see for myself!
ReplyDeleteIf you don't sell the firewood it will still be good to have for an aoutdoor fire some dry, chilly night!

Thanks for the slide show :-) You have more color in your area than we saw driving through the Cumberland Mountains to get home to Knoxville from Michigan.
