April Fool's Fiesta

Or how to make a lunch party for four with no fuss...

5:30 am Chop the onions

Place in roasting pan and top with five pounds of pork shoulder roast. Grind on lots of black pepper from custom hand painted (by me) pepper grinder.

Lots of Dots.
Oven is preheated to 325 degrees and the roast is covered and placed inside to be forgotten for three to four hours. It will emerge fork tender and crispy on the outside. It is then shredded and called Carnitas.

Locate and shoot before-pics of fruit salad and guacamole.

Essential ingredients which require just opening..

These peppers will be roasted on the grill. Get Dave to do this. Put roasted peppers in a paper lunchbag and let them steam. Later the blackened skins will rub off.

Poblano Peppers.
Sometimes these are hot, and sometimes not. You never know. They will be filled with shredded pork carnitas, cheese and then topped with mole sauce and garlic infused sour cream. Side dishes include refried beans, chopped lettuces, guacamole and fruit salad. If I am very ambitious I will stir fry the slender stalks of asparagus and flavor those with a squirt of lime.
Pass the salsa, por favor!

Your daily dose of dyed fabrics.
Ay ay ay!

The sweetest pastels, que bonito!

The mountain of fabric I have yet to wash and iron.
No I am not selling this fabric online anymore. I just am making it for my workshop people.
See Tommy's blog for the easy way we dyed in the microwave.

  1. You made me hungry for Mexican and I haven't even had breakfast yet. Sounds yummy. Got a good side dish I like with Mexican if you like broccoli - saute some sliced garlic in oil, remove when browned, add broccoli cut fairly small and stirfry don't overcook, spritz with fresh lime.

    And I love those pastels!
