Not Ready for Prime Time

Dave put up the tree while I was quilting downstairs, and it looks wonderful on these dark December nights.

I cleaned up the dyeroom a bit since it was impassable and left the drying fabrics on the shelves for the tv people, in case they wanna talk about dyeing.

The long view of the dye room. It is the ante room between the downstairs kitchen and the studio. Long and skinny and usually full of stuff that has to be put away.

I am in the midst of quilting Red, even though Big Green is only half done.
The studio needs a few hundred more finished quilts on the wall for tv. I will have to get crackin'.
They are all still in one of my suitcases, all folded up. Yikes. Ironing.

Although I don't mark the actual design I do make soap sliver lines to stitch between. I call this contained space quilting.

These books oughta make the rest of the quilting process more entertaining.

I just had to include this picture of Jet, the alarm clock kitty. He insists we get up at a prescribed (by him) time of 4:20am. He wants to smell the outdoors, but not venture out.

I am incoherent this morning, but I promise to have pics of tv debut manana.

  1. Hi Mel, I hope you're feeling better this morning. Make sure to ask the crew how all your fans and admirers can get a copy of this segement who may not have the chance to see it on their local PBS station.

  3. Thanks for advertising your public library! Books on tape for free there! And as for the TV debut--break a leg!--the old librarian

  4. Melody - You know what happens at 4:20 am., don't you? That's when the birds start singing!!!

I've done extensive research on this - actually, I've looked at the clock in my studio from time to time when I've been up all night creating...yup, it's 4:20 on the dot! Our 15 year old kitty just perks her head now, then goes back to sleep. "Big Deal, so what!," she says.....
