Men Party!

This almost Never Happens. Dave had friends over for the day!

In our almost 27 years of marriage (tomorrow is our anniversary) Dave has never had pals over just for a visit. They usually meet at a bar and he comes home smelling like, well you know.

But yesterday Mike and Denny came for a visit from Galesburg IL which is way far off in the western hinterlands where one is a farmer and the other is a retired UPS guy. They are pretty hard up for entertainment, I am guessing, but actually are the most fun guys ever to arrive at our door. Dave met them at a motorcycle rally and immediately made friends.

The picture above shows them at lunch, and poor Mike was sitting in the wrong chair. He is not a six year old at the adult table. I found him a better chair that made him just as tall as the other boys.

They did the usual thing, visiting the motorcycle store and came home ravenous. I had thought ahead and brought home gobs of men food, and Dave and I scurried to clean up most of the cat hair before they arrived. Then I went back to work in the studio.

My new quilt is GREEN, while the big Red one is on the wall waiting to be quilted.

Dave had some icky thing removed from his head which is why he is wearing a bandage.

He is pretty darn cute anyway.
He invited his pals into the studio and asked me to show them how I work.
Imagine that! I did the demo and they were so interested and nice about asking questions and all. It was a real treat to have these fun men around. I hope they come back often.

  1. What a nice compliment from your man for him to show off your studio, process, and work to his motorcycle pals!

Hi Mel! Happy Anniversay to you and Dave. What a great guy Dave sounds like. My guys are pretty great too but they're kind of nerdy engineering types. Not sure what to make of the artist in general. Love your red piece and can't wait to see the green. Hugs, Dee
