The End of an Era

It's finally happening. Both AQS and the Mancuso's are accepting digital images for their quilt contest entry forms. I can put away my SLR camera, projector and slide carousels for good now.
O well, Houston still wants slides, but can they be far behind?

It is so much easier and faster to take a digital and burn it to a cd than to set up the lights, and camera to take slides, not to mention having to leave home to get them processed. And then there is the disappointment when they turn out less than stellar, and have to be redone.

I mentioned that I bought this new scanner/copier/printer, and one of its features is printing out 4x6 photos at so many a minute. Wow, but really am I about to do that? I have boxes of photos that remain in their messy state, completely disorganized and non-archival, and can see no need to add to their number. Some say, but you may want to send a picture to someone and then you can print just what you want. However I seem to have also eliminated anyone who isn't computer savvy from my list of folks I send things to.
Here's a jpeg of ...I say in an email.

I never write anything by hand if I can avoid it, I'd much rather type. I can barely scribble a note to my husband informing him of my whereabouts.
My husband's new car has a connection on the side of the console to receive a computer cable for maintenance diagnostics. My sewing machine is a computer too. ( I dusted it off yesterday).
Has it only been ten years since I got my first computer and now am panicky and adrift if I cannot get online?
I have to admit I really like all this new stuff, and never imagined I would become so adept (!) as I am in working it all into my daily routine. I have even plugged into Stamps.com and can now print my own postage!

Now if there were only a way to plug in and get exercise, I would have it all.

My beet red face after an hour of cardio-rollerblading.
