Great News for Quilters!!

Lilies

by Emily Parson 2002

Today I am delighted to announce that two of my artist friends, Emily Parson and David Walker have just had a major sale of their quilt works. Emily's is Lilies (pictured here) and is 82x82" and was made in 2002. David Walker's quilt called The Other Side of Silence, 78x91" was made in 1989 and is " a huge and heavy red piece with loads of visual interest". Both of these quilts were sold through an Ohio gallery to a large law firm in NYC.
David says,
"I'm feeling good about this sale and will begin the new year with a much needed monetary boost. To see an image of his quilt click here.

Quilts from Noriko Endo of Japan and Carol Taylor from NY were also part of the selected group presented to this law firm.

Since Emily is busy with three little ones under 5, the news that her quilt had actually sold, brought this response, "It almost makes me feel like a professional quilt artist again!!!!!! :)"

When asked what she would do with the money, Emily blurted, "FURNITURE!" But then she gave it a minute and sighed, 'We'll probably save it.'

Congratulations to both David and Emily on this great news and Merry Christmas to us all.
